" Visualing Dreams Into Reality "

Biography

    Dawnyelle Butler a native of Baltimore, Maryland at age 3 had a dream to become a dancer. Not only did her dream come true, her gift took her far beyond her expectations. As a little girl Dawnyelle was very much involved in the performing arts. This passion then inspired her to audition for the University of the Arts, Philadelphia in which she was accepted shortly after. During her 4 years in college Dawnyelle balanced school and the pursuit of her career very well. A daily routine for Dawnyelle would include going to classes and auditions, juggling this sometimes nearly impossible schedule resulted in an early start in her professional career when she was chosen to be a dancer/background singer for Kathy Sledge that ultimately resulted  in her touring internationally. Dawnyelle recalls as a teenager singing " Call Me " by Evelyne Champagne King in front of the mirror which surprisingly turned into a dream come true. Ms. King joined the tour with Kathy Sledge. Still balancing working with Kathy Sledge and school, Dawnyelle still managed to compete and win a model search hosted by the (MAAI) Modeling Association of America International Inc. in which she won several categories: Hair/Make-Up, Runway, Swimsuit, TV Commercial and Dance. While on the grind, Dawnyelle managed to fit in voice-over work at Philadelphia's 103.9 for " Style News " where she played Mary J Blige and Paula Abdul.

     After receiving her BFA from the University of the Arts, Dawnyelle went on to work with many of the industry's well known directors/producers/actors/re-cording artists: Steven Spielberg, Chris Rock, Jay-Z, and Madonna just to name a few. Dawnyelle has appeared in major motion pictures such as " Minority Report " and " Head of  State". She has appeared on various shows on MTV and VH1 as a background dancer as well as hosted some of Baltimore's hottest local video music shows: R&R TV and Indie Planet TV. You might also recognize Dawnyelle due to her various appearances in local and national commercials such as Gebco and CarMax. Being the triple threat diva she is Dawnyelle has graced the stage in theater as well. She played the fabulous Josephine Baker in the play " The Family U-Knit " at the Eubie Blake Cultural Arts Center and she also has been in the productions of " Bubbling Brown Sugar " and Delaware Theater Company's production of " God's Children". B.A.B.'s Theatrical Productions cast    her in " Skeletons " and " 3 Woman and 3 Men" which both premiered at the Producers Club in New York City. 

     The catwalk is no stranger to Dawnyelle's signature walk that has the nation's most recognized  and cutting edge designers  requesting her presence in their shows. She was a model on a segment titled " Fantasy Jobs " on BET J where she was modeling for friend/fashion designer/playwright    Alve' Alexander (Alve' Couture). She has also been in several shows for her long time good friend Carl Trogdon (of Alek Risiminic Couture) who is one of the east coast's most sought after designers. Dawnyelle continues to grace the runway as well as coach up and coming models on runway etiquette in the Baltimore and New York area.

     Now having an exciting career to build off of, " Welcome to the Dawn Productions " was conceived out of hope to help aspiring artists develop their talent in visual and performing arts. Dawnyelle has been recognized for her passion for people  from all walks of life to " visualize their dreams into reality. "She was nominated for The Governors Art Award by the state of Maryland for her work with special needs children in the performing arts that to this day has been one of the greatest honors she has been granted. Dawnyelle continues to mentor, teach, write, direct, produce, choreograph, act sing, host and model at many major events around the nation. Dawnyelle continues to broaden her horizons as she is now a true playwright    in her own right with the performance of her own play " Good Girls Never Tell." The first play of more to come. She will continue her quest to maintain her vision of making her dreams a reality as well as making the dreams of others their reality as well.
